MA The Beginnings of Irish Christianity

This programme provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the religious culture and spirituality of early medieval Ireland, from the conversion to Christianity down to the end of the twelfth century. The new religion transformed Ireland in fundamental ways but was also able to accommodate many aspects of indigenous tradition which retained their importance for Irish Christians. Besides exploring these developments, and the impact which Irish Christianity had on the rest of Europe, students will engage in the close study of various genres of religious literature, and can also begin the study of early Irish and of Latin. The writing of a dissertation, under the supervision of a member of staff, will develop and refine research skills. The programme provides an overview of the subject area which is unrivalled in its inclusiveness and diversity; field trips are an optional part of the programme, enabling students to encounter the physical remains of this fascinating culture.

GradDip Digital Policy

The innovative programme mixes the abstract and the applied with core modules from the School of Information and Communication Studies. This programme introduces students to basic concepts and issues in digital policy, giving a historical and critical understanding of how to theorise digital objects and environments by learning to situate them in perspectives such as platform capitalism, governance, data infrastructures and information analytics. The Grad Dip in Digital Policy is designed to prepare graduates for careers in evaluating, implementing, and studying core topical, theoretical, and methodological issues that arise in digital policy today. Biomedical Sciences (Intercalated) (M.Sc.)

Students will take a core module in Clinical Research based in the Clinical Research Facility, St James’s Hospital and concurrently follow one of five specialist tracks, which will be provided by the actual modules as offered by the currently running five masters courses (i) the masters course in molecular medicine, (ii) the masters course in neuroscience, (iii) the masters course in immunology (iv) the masters course in translational oncology or (v) the masters course in healthcare infection management.
